I design and build custom websites and brands.

From the logo and colours to the finished website. I work with restaurants, hotels, spas and small businesses. Every site is built from scratch rather than from a bought template, and it leaves you with no monthly fee.

01 / Selected work

Two brands, two very different websites

Both samples are complete: the brand, the brand manual, the design system, the copy and the website. Each one has its own styles and its own structure, it is not one template in two colours. The brands are made up and both projects exist as a sample of the scope, not as delivered client work.

Restaurant · Prague 1

KOŘEN

A restaurant serving modern Czech cuisine in Malá Strana. A dark, earthy brand and a quiet website that is mostly about the menu and booking a table.

  • Identity
  • Brand manual, 19 pages
  • Design system
  • 5 page website
  • Copy

Boutique hotel & spa · Beskydy

MODŘÍN

A boutique hotel with a spa on the edge of the Beskydy mountains, twenty four rooms. A light, airy brand. The enquiry bar sits in the first screen, so nobody has to hunt for it.

  • Brand manual, 19 pages

02 / About me

Jakub Didkovský

I am 20, I study and I have been building websites since 2024. I like working for businesses that are good at their craft but whose website does not show it.

I work alone, so you talk to the person who designs and builds the site the whole time, and nothing gets lost in translation between a designer and a developer.

  • 20years old
  • Studentfreelancing alongside school
  • Since 2024working in web design
  • Czechia and Europein person or remotely

The finished website leaves you with no licence to renew. The fonts and the code are free to use and you get all of it.

03 / What I do

The whole website from one person

You do not have to find a designer, a developer and a copywriter separately. I take it from start to finish.

Visual identity

A logo, colours, typefaces and the rules for using them, so the brand also works off the web.

  • Logo in four variants, SVG and PNG
  • Brand manual as a PDF, contrast checked against WCAG
  • Design system in a spreadsheet: colours, scale, components
  • Favicons, avatars, Open Graph image

Custom website

Design and the finished site. Static HTML, CSS and JS, so there is nothing to update and nothing to break.

  • Responsive from 320 px, tested on real devices
  • Fonts and libraries that are free and legal, no licence to renew
  • Structured data, Open Graph, sitemap
  • Accessibility: focus, skip link, contrast, keyboard

Copy and content

Copy is often the weakest part of a website. I write it with you, concretely and without filler.

  • Tone of voice and brand vocabulary
  • Page copy, menus, room descriptions, emails
  • A list of the photos and materials you need to supply
  • Proofreading and editing

Launch and care

Domains, hosting, forms, analytics. You get a working website, not a zip file.

  • Deployment, HTTPS, redirects, backup
  • Connecting forms, a booking or PMS system
  • Cookie banner and analytics if you need them
  • Changes and further work as needed, with no retainer

04 / How it works

Five steps, no surprises

You know the price and the deadline in advance from a short opening proposal. After that I keep sending you versions to check, so you never see something completely different after a month.

Conversation

a few emails, or 30 minutes

The simplest way is email, and the whole brief can be handled that way. If you would rather talk, we can do it over Zoom, and meet in person if I can get to you. I need to know what you do, who for and what you expect from the website: bookings, enquiries, or mainly that people find you. From that I write up the brief and send you a quote.

Short opening proposal

a few days

I send you a short document: what the website will do, how it will be structured, what it will cost and by when it will be done, plus a first visual direction. You either agree or say what should be different. Only then do I start.

Brand and design

1–2 weeks

Logo, palette, typefaces and the visual design of the key pages. I do not send static images. You see the design as a website in the browser, on a phone and on a large monitor.

Building the site

1–2 weeks

I keep sending you a link to a test version, so you can see it grow and step in before it is too late. This is where your photos and copy go in, forms get connected and speed and accessibility get tuned.

Launch

1–3 days

Deployment on your domain, a check of every link and form, a short handover session and all the source files. The website is yours, files, fonts and licences included.

05 / Scope and price

Three sizes of brief

We agree the scope at the start and I give you the price once, as a fixed figure rather than an hourly rate. If the brief grows along the way, we talk about it before I start on it.

Calling card

One page that does the job

For a small business that only has a social profile today and needs a credible place to send customers.

  • One long page
  • Adjusting an existing brand
  • Copy and structure
  • Contact form
  • Deployment and handover

Custom website most common

A full site designed for you

For a restaurant, a guesthouse or a company with several services. A custom design rather than a template, structured around what the site should bring in.

  • 4–8 pages with a custom design
  • Copy for every page
  • Design system and components
  • Forms, SEO, structured data
  • A list of the photos and materials needed
  • Handover session and source files

Brand + website

A whole identity and a site to match

For a new business or a rebrand. What you can see with KOŘEN and MODŘÍN: from the logo to the finished website and print materials.

  • Everything in the Custom website tier
  • Logo and the full visual identity
  • Brand manual as a PDF
  • Iconography and art direction
  • Artwork for print and signage
  • Six months of changes included
Write to me

There is no price list on this website. Every brief is a different size and a flat number would tell you nothing. After the opening conversation you get a concrete quote with the scope, the price and the deadline, and that is what holds. I am not VAT registered, so nothing is added to the price. I always use open source typefaces, so you never pay a font licence. Photography, copy in another language and connecting a booking system are handled separately and always agreed in advance. Details are in the consumer information.

06 / Questions

What clients ask

Will I be able to edit the content myself?

Yes, though let us be clear about how. On smaller sites you get a simple text file with the content, you edit it and send it back to me. Putting it in takes minutes and nothing breaks. If you need to change content often, such as a daily menu or news, I add an editable part connected to a content system. We agree this at the start, because it affects the price.

Why not WordPress?

Because for most small websites it only brings drawbacks: slower loading, updates that have to be watched and a security risk you find out about too late. If a site does not need a content system, I do not add one. If it does, I will use WordPress or something else, but because of the content, not because of a template.

Who supplies the photos and materials?

You do. Photos, the logo and other materials come from you, either from a photographer or from your own archive. You get a list from me of what is needed, including the dimensions of every image. Until I have the photos, empty fields hold their place on the page and I swap them in later.

How much of my time will it take?

The opening conversation can be done by email; a call or a meeting takes about half an hour. After that you read the opening proposal, and during the work I send you two versions to check. I write the copy, you only go through it and correct what does not fit.

What if I do not like the design?

That is why I send a short opening proposal first and several versions to check later on. If we are missing each other it shows at the very beginning rather than after a month, and we part ways after the first phase, which is the only one you pay for.
